RETN Launches New Fibre Route Connecting Berlin, Poznań, and Warsaw, Doubling Capacity for Future Expansion

London/Berlin/Warsaw - May 10, 2023 - RETN, a leading international network service provider, is excited to announce the launch of a new fibre route connecting Berlin, Poznan, and Warsaw. The 780km route is a significant addition to the company's Central and Eastern European network providing a unique additional diverse route and much increased capacity between Germany and Poland.

The existing paths between Germany and Poland are one of RETN's most trafficked routes linking the core of its Western and Eastern European networks.

The new route is using dark fibre laid alongside gas and oil infrastructure, providing additional security and protection with near perfect historical availability on most sections. The configuration allows for lower latency services between Berlin and other parts of Northern Germany and Warsaw. Furthermore, additional metro fibre in Poznan allows for customers to mix both existing and new routes for optimum diversity.

Tony O'Sullivan, CEO of RETN said, "As a central highway of traffic between Europe and Asia, this network development represents a significant milestone for RETN and our customers. With double the capacity for future growth, improved diversity, and reduced latency, we are confident that this new route will be a game-changer for our customers."

As the entire European DWDM network is based on the new generation FlexILS Infinera Line System, this new route has been implemented with the same technology, ensuring high-quality, record-fast service delivery.

This project fits well within RETN's strategy to add long haul fibre density in the core of its European network. The company continues to expand its network to meet the evolving needs of businesses, and this new fibre route is a testament to that commitment.
