RETN launched a new DWDM route and PoPs in Western Europe

Frankfurt, 16 December 2016 – RETN has recently upgraded its network in Western Europe by launching a new DWDM route connecting Stuttgart (Interoute) and Zurich (InterXion). Running on 245 kilometres (152 miles), this route is completing the latest achievements of RETN in the region. Earlier in November there were other PoPs launched in Munich (Equinix MU3), Salzburg (Techno-Z) and  Vienna (Vienna University).

RETN GmbH was opened a year ago, and since then the company has been demonstrating a constant growth in many aspects (operational, technical etc.), developing regional initiatives which allowed to increase RETN’s presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

“Since the day of its foundation, RETN GmbH has been working in a challenging climate”, said Mario Kohl, Managing Director of RETN GmbH. We have never run out of interesting opportunities to provide our regional and international customers with more possibilities to improve their connections and support their business, and we are happy to achieve significant results in such a short period. Our German team is getting bigger, as well as the projects we expect for the years to come.”

Denis Makarchuk, CTO at RETN GmbH, added: “Stuttgart-Zurich DWDM route is built to enable RETN’s customers to improve their connectivity and benefit from any of RETN services in the cities – Munich, Stuttgart, Salzburg and Vienna. Connecting three countries throughout one network we succeeded very fast in serving our growing customer base and providing them a high-quality technical support in this region enabling us to provide our customers capacities with up to 100 Gigabit IP and DWDM Services”.
