London – 16 October 2026 – RETN, the leading independent global network service provider, won two awards at the Global Connectivity Awards 2026, which took place at The O2 in London earlier this week.
The Best Asia-Pacific Connectivity Provider of the Year award recognises RETN’s work to strengthen international connectivity amid repeated subsea cable disruptions across Asia-Pacific and the Red Sea. RETN responded by significantly expanding route diversity and regional interconnection, building greater resilience into its network to help customers maintain connectivity when critical infrastructure is disrupted.
RETN completed a six-path network architecture for Taiwan, expanding route options across connections to Hong Kong and Tokyo. It has also strengthened regional interconnection through Remote-IX, which gives operators access to international peering without deploying their own infrastructure locally, and Flex-IX, which combines internet exchange access and IP Transit on a single port and contract across BBIX locations in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as JPNAP and JPIX in Tokyo. Together, these developments give customers greater flexibility in connecting across Asia-Pacific and reaching international markets.
The Best Marketing Team award recognises RETN’s five-person global marketing team, which supports 17 offices and network development across 45 territories. Working across sales, engineering and regional teams, marketing has helped strengthen RETN’s positioning as a trusted telecoms partner, recognised for its technical excellence and commitment to responsible infrastructure. Through global PR, thought leadership, events, targeted regional campaigns and partner programmes, the team showcases RETN’s operational resilience and network engineering expertise, strengthening the company’s positioning in international connectivity markets.
RETN operates a 142,000 km global backbone, with more than 1,010 points of presence across 45 territories, connecting Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America.
Tony O’Sullivan, CEO of RETN, commented: “These awards recognise the expertise and commitment of our teams across the business. Our network is built to deliver reliable connectivity in a world where disruption has become a constant consideration, while our marketing team helps customers and the wider industry understand what that takes. Both are central to how RETN continues to grow and serve customers around the world.”
The double win builds on RETN’s recognition at the Global Connectivity Awards 2025, when the company was named Best Pan-European Connectivity Provider.
