RETN significantly broadens its presence across Italy

International network service provider RETN has significantly strengthened its presence across Italy. Over recent months, the pan-Eurasian datacentre-to-datacentre connectivity provider has doubled the number of its points of presence (PoPs) from 3 to 6. With new PoPs in Padua, Milan and Rome, RETN successfully extended its network to the Italian capital, whilst further strengthening its presence in the north of the country.

By significantly increasing the number of PoPs, RETN gives domestic service providers access to international IXPs, enabling them to considerably reduce latency and improve round-trip time. Italy is central to RETN’s network expansion strategy to connect Europe and Asia, forming a gateway to the rest of the Mediterranean Region.

“With Italy being one of our focus markets in Europe, we are particularly excited to announce our latest local network extension. We will continue to grow our network across the country to provide our customers with the most reliable IP transit and capacity services”, RETN’s Key Account Manager for Italy, Spain, France and Portugal, Alberto Naso, said.

For its extension to Rome, RETN has teamed up with Namex the main internet hub in Central and Southern Italy.

Maurizio Goretti, Namex CEO: "We welcome RETN increasing its presence and investing in Italy. It's important to see large international service providers enrich connectivity in Italy. This is just the start of a fruitful cooperation, more to come"

RETN’s recent network expansion across Italy and the rest of Europe has not gone unnoticed: the company is currently shortlisted as ‘Best Pan-European Wholesale Carrier’ for the 2022 Global Carrier Awards. The awards ceremony - taking place on 19 October in London – is the most prestigious in telecoms and connectivity.
