International network service provider RETN continues its expansion in the Balkan region, strengthening its backbone network with a new long-haul DWDM route that connects Budapest, Belgrade, and Sofia. The new fibre route, which spans a total distance of 932km and uses the latest generation of Infinera FlexILS line system, extends RETN’s layer 1 capacity services to customers in the region and provides them with access to the wider RETN DWDM network as well as greatly increased capacity for the RETN IP/MPLS network.
